The module is designed to strengthen the skills required to perform bariatric and metabolic procedures using minimally invasive techniques, integrating theoretical knowledge, surgical observation, and supervised hands-on training.

The module provides intensive training that combines observation of live surgical procedures, laparoscopic simulation, and hands-on practice using ex vivo models under expert supervision. The program allows participants to review indications, perioperative management, and potential complications, while progressively developing practical skills relevant to procedures such as sleeve gastrectomy, Roux-en-Y gastric bypass, and revisional bariatric surgery.
TARGET AUDIENCE
Specialists in General Surgery and Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery, as well as fellows undertaking advanced training in these specialties.

About
A.T.L.A.S.

The continued expansion of bariatric and metabolic surgery, together with the increasing use of minimally invasive approaches, has created a growing need for professionals with specialized training in these fields.
The program offers intensive training focused on the development of advanced skills in minimally invasive surgery. It combines theoretical instruction with hands-on practice using dry-lab simulators, ex vivo tissue training, and the analysis of complex surgical procedures.
This training model is designed to strengthen psychomotor, technical, and cognitive skills in a supervised environment, while also connecting simulation-based learning with real-world clinical and surgical practice through interactive observation and critical analysis of live procedures.
